Estas esculturas, a través de la forma natural de la madera, encapsulan el concepto del tiempo no lineal, simbolizando el paso continuo y circular de nuestra existencia. La luz, por otro lado pretende transmitir la esencia luminosa que se encuentra en la naturaleza.
Más allá de su significado conceptual, estas esculturas provienen de un camino coherente durante todo el proceso de producción. Personalmente recolecto la madera de diferentes montañas en los Andes, participando en un proceso íntimo de ofrenda con la montaña y el árbol del chawarquero, honrando un intercambio energético que aprendí en mi camino entre los ancianos indígenas en mi país natal, Ecuador. No todos los chawarqueros tienen las ramas en forma circular y tan ondulada por lo que constantemente estoy viajando y buscando las piezas que naturalmente están en las formas que conjugan con mi propuesta. Una vez que ya tengo la madera, la seco en mi taller y tallo manualmente el camino para la luz.
These sculptures through their natural shape, encapsulate the concept of non-linear time, symbolizing the continuous and circular passage of our existence. The light on another hand pretends to convey the luminous essence found within nature.
Beyond their conceptual meaning, these sculptures come from a coherent path throughout the entire production process. I personally collect the wood from different mountains in the Andes, engaging in an intimate offering process with the mountain and the chawarquero tree, honoring an energetic exchange that I learned in my journey among the indigenous elders in my home country, Ecuador. Not all chawarquero trees have branches in a circular and wavy shape, so I am constantly traveling and searching for pieces that naturally have the shapes that match my proposal. Once I have the wood, I dry it in my workshop and manually carve the path for the light.
