Humans and Nature has changed with the pandemic

Quito - 2020
The Essential Particle is a light sculpture created with materials found in nature: wood, quartz and leafs; that are illuminated from within, seeking to make an allegory between the relationship that human beings have with nature, the power of light with their environment and how this relationship has been revalued during confinement.
The name of this work originates from the definition of the photon: a light-carrying particle that creates quantum manifestations in electromagnetic fields and transports energy from one place to another. In the same way, the elements of nature act on the human being as a photon of light, giving us energy for our well-being. During the confinement we all felt how we lost energy and vitality with each passing day; the escape to nature is what made us reconnect with our inner light to find mental, emotional and physical balance. The sound of the sea, a walk in the forest or simply watching the sunset already made us feel better; This is a clear example of the power and impact that nature has on our lives and its potential to harmonize our existence in adverse times.
